“Lotus” is an interview documentary film(2018) that comes from the personal experience that the documentary director has lived in Italy. Intrigued by the type of “information” that Italians receive and make their own on Iran, she has also found herself having to respond to unexpected questions that denoted little knowledge. Confirming the disinformation of most Italians in Middle Eastern countries, common thought tended to be negative. The problem that has surfaced is the information conveyed by the Italian and Western mass media that influence public opinion beyond measure.
This documentary film, in the form of a travel letter, is a description of one of my travels starting in the city of Naples, Italy, continuing south along the western coast of Italy, ending in Sicily and the city of Palermo. The trip is both pre-planned and not planned. In parts of this film, I have already planned to go to two places to volunteer and work in two farmhouses. What I do not know are the events, people and experiences that may occur in different places that can be good or bad. I have tried to portray events, places, and people in a simple, action-packed, to capture my true feelings about what they were and to share with others what I have felt and seen. In many of the plan and framing, I have tried to approach my favorite cinema format that is poetic cinema and use my voice to convey my events, my feelings, and my thoughts.
